Draft the vest body and skirt from four measurements

The vest dress uses chest, neck, back length and front-leg gap to generate a full vest body, fixed Peter Pan collar and circle-hem skirt panel. Accurate front-leg spacing positions the chest piece and openings, while back length contributes to the body and skirt attachment.

Record your pet's actual measurements first, then consider the stretch of your chosen fabric. Stretchier fabric may call for an adjustment to circumference inputs; do not scale back length or leg gaps along with them. Check the collar, vest body and circle-hem skirt

In the preview, confirm the Peter Pan collar orientation, front and back vest pieces, front-leg openings and circle-hem skirt panel, then compare the skirt attachment edge with the body seam. If skirt placement looks unusual, recheck back length rather than changing neck circumference.

Test collar bulk and skirt movement

The fixed collar and circle skirt both add layers. Test in fabric close to the final thickness and drape, checking comfort around the neck, front legs, tail and hind legs and confirming that the skirt does not continually roll or drag the body out of place.

Each payment includes two PDF exports for the same pattern style. Make a test garment after the first export. If a measurement was wrong or the fabric stretch makes the fit too loose or tight, recheck and adjust the relevant measurements, then use the remaining export for the revised pattern.
