Online Parametric Pattern Drafting
Surgery Recovery Suit Pattern Generator
Draft a made-to-measure post-surgery pet suit pattern with separate chest and back panels. Preview the hems and Velcro placement before exporting a printable PDF.
Measure the chest, neck, back and leg gaps
With the pet standing naturally, record the chest, neck and back length in centimetres, then measure the narrowest clear distance between the inside edges of the front legs and of the hind legs. Use the narrowest point for both leg-gap measurements rather than a wider section; the hind-leg gap controls clearance at the chest-panel hem. Check the page's measurement guide before entering it.
Record your pet's actual measurements first, then consider the stretch of your chosen fabric. Stretchier fabric may call for an adjustment to circumference inputs; do not scale back length or leg gaps along with them. See the measurement guide below for measuring methods and stretch-fabric guidance.
Read the pet measurement guideAbout the Surgery Recovery Suit
The Surgery Recovery Suit considers abdominal coverage, movement, tail clearance and adjustable Velcro so dogs can stay more comfortable during recovery or everyday care. When making the pattern, check that the chest and belly have enough room, the legs can move naturally, and the garment is easy to put on, remove and clean. Every dog has a different body and condition, so let the dog's response guide the fit. We hope this garment is practical to make and helps every dog stay healthy, comfortable and happy when they need care.
Verify the print scale and make a test garment
After exporting the PDF, verify the print scale and make a test garment in fabric similar to the intended material. The pattern includes a fixed 2 cm stand collar, with no extra collar-height input. Check that the collar does not press on the neck and that the underarms, hind-leg roots and tail opening stay comfortable while the pet stands, walks, turns and toilets; then adjust the pattern if needed.
Each payment includes two PDF exports for the same pattern style. Make a test garment after the first export. If a measurement was wrong or the fabric stretch makes the fit too loose or tight, recheck and adjust the relevant measurements, then use the remaining export for the revised pattern.
