Adjustable Pet Vest Pattern Generator

The adjustable vest uses chest, neck, back length and front-leg gap. Keep the pet standing naturally without compressing the coat, measure the back from neck base to just before the tail, and take front-leg gap horizontally between the inside edges of the legs.

Record your pet's actual measurements first, then consider the stretch of your chosen fabric. Stretchier fabric may call for an adjustment to circumference inputs; do not scale back length or leg gaps along with them. Review the adjustable and closure areas

After the draft updates, check that the neck and torso adjustment areas sit where they can be operated without rubbing the leg roots, and confirm back length and front-leg openings. Adjustability provides fitting range but does not replace accurate measurement.

Test with the intended closure material

Hook-and-loop tape, buckles and other closures differ in width and stiffness. Use a closure close to the final choice in the test garment and check for lifting, rubbing or tightness while the pet stands, walks and lies down.

Each payment includes two PDF exports for the same pattern style. Make a test garment after the first export. If a measurement was wrong or the fabric stretch makes the fit too loose or tight, recheck and adjust the relevant measurements, then use the remaining export for the revised pattern.
