Create a fitted BJD bodice block from the doll's measurements as a foundation for doll clothing designs.
Use both scale ratio and doll-body measurements
The BJD bodice block uses a scale ratio together with the doll's bust, waist and back length. A scale label does not replace direct measurement: even two dolls sold as 1/3 or 1/4 should have their torso circumferences and back-neck-to-waist length recorded separately.
Review the scaled waistline and armholes
After changing the ratio or measurements, review bust-to-waist shaping, waist height, side seams and armholes against the doll body. Scale and linear measurements work together, so avoid using the ratio alone to correct one local area.
Make a miniature test in thin material
Miniature blocks are especially sensitive to fabric thickness, seam allowances and closures. After checking print scale, make a test in thin, stable material and assess dressing access, torso fit and arm movement before carrying corrections into other doll garments.
